Who is behind The EDIT, you may ask? Well that’s me! I am Kimberly “Kimmi” Ade, a wardrobe and personal stylist in Chicago. I began my career in fashion a decade ago studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. While at F.I.T. I was exposed to the world of fashion public relations and wardrobe styling through internships at Betsey Johnson, Full Picture, Yves Saint Laurent, and former shopping magazine Shop Etc. Upon graduation, with a degree in Marketing Communications, I continued to follow my passion for PR and styling and freelanced for fashion houses Diesel, Roger Vivier, and Sue Stemp. In 2007, I joined the PR team for trendsetting jewelry designer R.J. Graziano in NYC and continued to develop my styling career by working with well-known fashion brands and magazines including: Via Spiga, Ann Taylor, Sears, Kmart, ELLE, Good Housekeeping, and Parents magazine.
I moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to work at fashion PR firms Bollare and In-House PR as well as continuing to freelance style, but this time for vocal artists and celebrities. Through these experiences I learned the ins and outs of the fashion industry as well as how to work seamlessly with diverse personalities, clients, and styling techniques. I was enlightened by the idea that whether I was styling a client or pitching a product, I was working towards the same goal, branding. The thought that each person represents their own brand was exhilarating. After a few years in LA, I decided to embark on a new adventure in Denver, continuing my passion for styling and branding. Not long after THE EDIT was born.
In 2016, I moved THE EDIT out east to Chicago. My fashion-forward thinking, ability to create distinctive styles for my clients, and desire to help people feel great was soon embraced by the Windy City.
I look forward to working with you! Feel free to head to our contact page or reach me at 917-536-2613.
